Dear Bro. Michael Smith,
Greetings to you through the mighty name of Jesus Christ our
reigning king.
Please join us in magnifying the name of the Lord for making His
presence felt in our midst for the five days of our camp meeting. It
started through the grace of God on the 14th and ended on the 18th
of September 2005 as planned.
Inspite of the looming crises due to the increase in the price of
petroleum products, many turned up even from far Lagos to attend the
meeting God brought down His power and glory to bless us with
victory over the powers of darkness His works through the Holy
Spirit uplifted our souls. And we were full of joy that He would
bless our small effort and have His name exalted. Souls were saved
and bodies were healed of sicknesses.
A number of people who came from denominations clearly saw the
difference. Some listeners in the neighourhood also made encouraging
remarks about the old time gospel that was preached. Some were
surprised that they could see people in Nigeria worshiping God
without materials, the devices of men. To such people, the church
seemed to have been in hiding. The testimony of a particular man may
interest you a lot. He had belonged to one of the most popular sects
in the country, church of God mission. He lives far from the venue
of the meeting. But the spirit of God moved him to came out to town,
he saw our banners and posters. Initially he thought it was
organized by one of their many branches in town. He was amazed to
see a different thing- no musical instruments, no dancing and so on
but a humble, loving and welcoming people. He decided to stay around
to watch further events. He remained with us in the camp throughout
the period, got convicted that his old way was wrong and gave
resounding testimony of the new life he had found in Christ. He was
among 11 persons that got baptized on the last day of the meeting.
He returned home happily like the Ethiopian eunuch, promising to
begin fellowship with the church. Some others were equally touched
but could not make declaration though they had wished that they hear
more of what they heard. The Lord anointed His word and the messages
went out with power and direction. All of us were happy and thankful
to God for being the beneficiaries of His blessings in manifold
ways. This is just a brief, I hope to send in more information to
share with the saints abroad who have been keen not only in the
fruitfulness of the meeting but in the rooting and growth of the
gospel in Africa
Thanks a lot for the offering you forwarded to support the camp
meeting. It was announced to ministers who applauded your kindness
to the church. It was also resolved that I should let you know how
much we appreciated the generous gesture of those who contributed to
the offering and yourself. Equally appreciated by brethren is the
support you here made for the Ghana trip. Above all, the time spent
in joining us in prayer for a fruitful work is so much appreciated
May God reward each and everyone of you.
Regarding the chapel work, it has not been completed. The elders of
the church in Port Harcourt whom I have hinted about your interest
to support in the completion of the chapel were taking by a surprise
and expressed appreciation to your thoughtfulness about us. The camp
meeting being over, I will be working on the details to be forwarded
to you.
I hope to be in touch with Ghana soon to agree on a suitable date
for the trip so they could arrange themselves over there for a
profitable fellowship.
The saints should continue to remember us in prayer. This last camp
meeting has again exposed us to many challenges and without the Lord
we can do nothing. Bro. Michael, our thought and prayer is always
for you. I trust He will raise and strengthen you to be able to come
to Africa where many dread to visit.
May God bless you more. Please share my with your Family.
Yours in His Love
F. Naths – Igbanibo |
